Day 10 – Harnessing your natural body clock

Let me ask you a question…Are you an owl? Or are you a lark?

What time of day are you at your best?

We all have times of day when we’re feeling most energised, most able to focus and we’re just on top of our game. It could be early in the morning, or afternoon and evening. There’s no right or wrong answer to this, we’re all completely different. But today’s challenge is about learning what time of day you are at your best.

Once you’ve decided it’s time to use that time (and your own natural body clock) more effectively. Let me give you an example…

If you’re a morning person, when you arrive into work, don’t go straight for your inbox, instead pick a really meaty task something that needs your brain power and work on that. Don’t waste the time when your brain is at it’s best to do mundane tasks that you could do later on when you’re feeling a bit sluggish.

Likewise if you’re an afternoon person, same thing applies, but use the afternoon for your focus time and you can start your day with the mundane tasks to get you warmed up into your day.
